Abstract

The municipality is the basic administrative political division of the territory and the closest reference point to citizens to address the daily public problems of a community and it is there where the political participation of women has moved more slowly in Latin America, in Mexico and in Veracruz.

In the state of Veracruz of Ignacio de la Llave, the most recent electoral process to renew local public power took place in 2020-2021. The analysis presented here is derived from its results, making readings from it that transcend the quantification of the votes that the women who were elected obtained.
