Abstract

The radical right is a political concept about which there is no definition that allows to approach in depth cases as complex as the case study of this text. This chapter proposes to analyze the party that emerged in 1972 under the name Front National and led by Jean-Marie Le Pen until 2011, year in which he is relieved by Marine Le Pen, who changes the name of the party to Rassemblement National and begins an ambitious transformation of the party in search of approaching the zone of electoral acquiescence. The analysis will allow us to elucidate the pertinence of the use of this analytical category as well as to understand
the continuities and ruptures of one of the most relevant right- wing configurations in the european context.
